Hmm... that would explain why I sporadically received a "maintenance" screen yesterday evening.

Yeah, I was trying to find out whether there was a way of upgrading step by step and keeping the visual style... but I have been told by the SMF folks that I will have to do re-do everything from scratch. And I hope the forum database upgrade will work Wink

My plan of action for next few days: -
  • Complete list of Kings of Tyre
  • Get something posted for Sidon (there doesn't seem to be a great deal that I can find at the moment)
  • Hamath/Alalakh/Aleppo
  • other Phoenician kingdoms
  • try to fit in any other Egyptian rulers who crop up

Kings of Tyre according to Menander
Hiram
979
-
945
Baalazar 1
945
-
928
Abdastart
928
-
919
Astart
919
-
907
Astartram
907
-
898
Ittobaal 1
898
-
866
Baalazar 2
866
-
860
Mattan 1
860
-
831
Pygmalion
831
-
785

The line continues (after a brief period of obscurity) with: -

Ittobaal 2750-739
Hiram 2739-730
Mattan 2730-729
Elulaios (Luli)729-694
Abd Melqart694-680
Baal 1680-660
Ittobaal 3591-573

The interregunum between Baal 1 and Ittobaal 3 is posited as a period of direct rule by Assyria or Egypt.

The following rulers are rulers during foreign domination (Babylonian, Persian and Macedonian): -

Baal 2573-564
Yakinbaal564
Chelbes564-563
Abbar563-562
Mattan 3562-556
Ger Ashthari562-556
Baalazar 3556-555
Mahar-Baal555-551
Hiram 3551-532
Mattan 3
Boulomenus
Abdemon??-411
Eugoras
Azimilik Strato??-332
Abdalonymus/Ballonymus/Alonymus (a gardener)332-??

Also: -

  • Hiram 1's father Abibaal reigned from 991-978
  • Some lists include one Phelles reigning ephemerally between Astartram and Ittobaal 1

Doesn't Rohl postulate that Agenor may be one and the same as Aqenienre Apepi?
